Sri Lankan police are investigating the death of a woman who was found dead under mysterious circumstances in a two-storied apartment by her husband.
Police received a tip-off from an anonymous caller, ‘Mawbima’ reported.
The victim, who was a retired Supreme Court stenographer, has been identified as 56-year-old Manel Panagoda.
She was living with her husband, daughter and son, who had left for work in the morning.
Panagoda stayed home with their pet dog. When the husband, who is a businessman, returned home earlier than usual, he noticed their dog was outside the home and was acting strangely.
When he peeped through a window, he saw his wife lying near a sofa. With the help of neighbours, he took his wife to a doctor, who advised him to admit her to a hospital.
Panagoda died right after she was admitted in hospital. Investigation is on.
