14-year-old boy held for beating up mom

Kuwaiti police arrested a 14-year-old local boy for beating up his mother after she rebuked him for leaving school and stealing a car, a newspaper in the oil-rich Gulf country reported on Saturday.

The Kuwaiti mother reported her son to the police and described him as “devil” who had been reputed for his violence at school before he quit classes, the Arabic language daily Alanba said in a report from the capital Kuwait City.

“The mother found out that her son stole a car and parked it near the house…… when she rebuked him and told him to return it to its owner, he attacked her and beat her up,” the paper said.

“She then reported him to the police who came to the house and arrested the boy….he confessed to beating his mother and stealing the car.”
The paper said the boy was involved in a court case two months ago, when he accused a Kuwait man of dragging him inside his house and beating him up.

It said the man had been convicted of assaulting the boy and causing bruises on his body after the teen ager told court he was dragged inside. The court refused to believe the man’s claims that he found the boy inside his house, it added.

“The case against the boy for beating his mother this week could lead toacquittal of that man, who was apparently accused falsely of attacking the boy.”
