Asian commits suicide over debt in Saudi

An Asian worker in his 50s committed suicide by hanging himself inside his room in Saudi Arabia after accumulating debt.

Newspapers quoted police spokesman Colonel Ziad Al Rugaiti as saying the man was found hanging in his room in the Northeastern town of Hafr Al Batin by friends and that no criminal act was involved in his death.

He said the worker’s employer told police that he believes the man ended his life because of accumulating debt.
