Police seized five expatriate men who kidnapped two boys and tied them up in a small cottage in a deserted area in Saudi Arabia after one of the boys managed to text a friend on his mobile phone, a newspaper reported on Wednesday.

Police, with the help of telecommunication authorities, managed to locate the origin of the mobile text and the whereabouts of the kidnappers.

“When police arrived in the area, the five captors ran away but were caught later…the two boys were found tied up inside the cottage,” Okaz daily said in a report from the western Red Sea port of Jeddah.

It said the five denied they are linked to the kidnapping but they later confessed after the two boys identified them. The paper said police are questioning the five to know their motive for kidnapping the two boys but it did not identify them.
