Saudi authorities arrested a Sudanese bus driver for mistreating a handicapped school boy suffering from diabetes by refusing to take him home and forcing him out of the vehicle, a newspaper reported on Sunday.

Adel bin Hamoud Al Zahrani, a deaf mute student at a special needs educational centre in the western town of Taif, screamed and cried as he dialed his father’s mobile phone from a shop in a distant area in the city, Sabq said.

“When his father rushed to him, he found that some Indian shopkeepers were trying to look after him and calm him down after the Sudanese driver forced him out of the bus and threw his bag on the road,” the paper said.

“The father informed the police who arrested the driver....it turned out later that the driver is also staying in the country illegally and that had come to Saudi Arabia to work as a shepherd.”
