Cop to be executed for abducting Filipina

A Kuwaiti appeals court sentenced a local policeman to death after he was convicted of abducting a Filipina and trying to rape her.

The cop, a police patrol head, was found guilty of kidnapping the woman and trying to rape her in the heart of the desert in the oil-rich Gulf country.

When she resisted, he beat her up and left her in the desert before she crawled to the road, where she was found by a passing car.

The Arabic language daily Al Watan said the appeals court upheld a previous death sentence by a court of first instance.
