A Saudi farmer lost 16 camels in just a few days and government vets said the animals could have perished because of poisoning.

Turki Al Saadi, a farmer in the southern mountainous town of Bisha, said the camels died at an average three every day although they were injected by vets who visited his farm this week.

Saadi told local newspapers that the department of agriculture was still examining the dead camels to determine the cause of their death.
