When two Kuwaiti policemen stopped a local man for violating traffic rules in the Gulf emirate, he apologised and said he would happily pay the fine.

But it did not stop there. As one cop was handing the driver the ticket, he noticed a little amount of drugs in the back seat, prompting the driver to try and flee.

“But the driver stopped metres away as he could not concentrate on driving because he had taken drugs,” the Arabic language daily Alwatan said. “When they came close to him again, he looked at them and said quietly ‘I am an addict…are you happy now.”
