Kuwait has opened an investigation into an incident involving an Indian man who committed a suicide inside a police station.
Newspapers said the probe is intended to identify flaws that enabled the man to kill himself as he awaited interrogation at the police station in Kuwait City.
Police said they found the man hanged by a blanket tied to the bars of the window inside the cell at the police centre. Forensic examination determined it was a suicide as the man was alone in the cell.
“An investigation has been ordered into the incident in a bid to identify flaws that allowed that Indian man to kill himself inside the police station,” the Kuwaiti Arabic language daily Alanba said.
