Man kidnaps mum, sister for ransom

A young Saudi man apparently influenced by Western movies kidnapped his mother and sister and phoned his father to demand ransom.

The man, in his 20s, was asked to give his mother and sister a lift to a clothes shop ahead of the wedding of a family member.

“He steered away from the road and went to the desert, where he phoned his father and demanded a SR50,000 (Dh49,500 ransom,” Ajel daily said.

“The father refused to pay and phoned the police, who succeeded in persuading the man to drop his demand. After returning his mother and sister to their home in Riyadh, the man was arrested,” the Arabic language newspaper said, adding that the kidnapper was described by his family as a “film addict.”

Jobless sodomises his 17-year old friend

A 30 year old jobless Emirati SSS, allegedly with a fugitive, sodomised a 17-year-old compatriot after physically assaulting him, the Dubai Criminal Court heard.

The victim AMR, jobless, testified that at around 8pm on August 31, he went to his friend SSS at Oud Al Mateena area with another friend identified as Ahmad.

“SSS asked me to accompany him to another room claiming he wants to tell me about a private matter. I went with him to another room where he slapped me and asked to have sex with me.

"As I refused he tied my legs with a belt and my hands with a ‘gutra’ with the help of Ahmad who followed us. Ahmad left the room and he undressed me and took off his dress and sodomised me twice. As he slept, I untied myself and ran away. I told my uncle who notified the police,” he testified.

Policeman Maher Saleh testified that at around 1am of September 1, the victim came to the police station with his uncle and notified about the crime.

Forensic reported bruises in AMR nose and under his eyes in addition to the sperms of SSS in the victim.

The prosecution submitted to the court SSS a criminal record that he has with the police.
