Man kills 'haunted' wife, 4-month-old baby

A Saudi man bit his 4-month-old son to death and caused the death of his wife, saying he did so to rid them of jinn (spirits).

The man, who was sentenced to 15 years in prison and ordered lashed 1,400 times, was driving with his family on a motorway near the Western Saudi town of Makkah when he went into a hysterical fit spurred by drugs.

He started to bite his son before throwing him out of the moving vehicle, causing his body to split into many pieces.

He then pushed his wife out and tried to run her over, prompting her to run away towards another road, where she was knocked over by another car.

“He was found by the police in a hysteric condition…he was chanting and screaming that he had killed the jinn,” Okaz daily said.
