Man kills hotel worker just before prayer

An Egyptian killed a Bangladeshi hotel employee in Saudi Arabia after he rebuked the Arab man for using drinking water in his pre-prayer ablution.

The Egyptian went into the hotel after hearing the night prayer call and went straight to the water cooler in the lobby to wash for prayers.

“The Bangladeshi rebuked the Egyptian for using drinking water for ablution and told him to go to the toilet for water,” Sabq Arabic language daily said in a report from the western Saudi town of Makkah.

“The Egyptian rushed out of the hotel angrily and returned later with a knife, which he used to stab the Bangladeshi three times in his chest, killing him instantly.”

The paper said the victim’s brother chased the killer and clashed with him but he managed to flee, adding that police mounted a manhunt for the killer.
