Man kills own baby with broom stick

An 18-month-old Saudi girl died after her father used a broom stick to hit her on the head before he grabbed the head again and banged it against the steel bed in his house, a newspaper in the Gulf Kingdom reported on Saturday.

The father himself carried his baby to hospital and told doctors that she banged her head after falling down, Okaz said.

“But during police interrogation, the mother collapsed and told them what her husband did,” it said in a report from the western Red Sea port of Jeddah.

Police arrested the man and decided to subject him to psychological examination before filing charges, it added.
