Man kills wife in front of children

An expatriate man in Saudi Arabia poured liquor on his wife and set her ablaze before killing her with a car tyre lever in front of his little sons, after accusing her of being unfaithful, a newspaper reported on Monday.

The man just picked up his wife and two children from a shopping mall and was returning home in the Western Red Sea port of Jeddah when he decided to stop the car and search her hand bag, 'Sabq' Arabic language daily said.

A heated argument erupted after he found pieces of paper carrying phone numbers, the paper said, adding that he changed direction and went to a friend.

He later emerged carrying a liquor bottle and drove to an isolated area, where he gulped half the bottle down before pouring the rest on his wife’s body.

“He set her on fire. He then went to the car boot, got the tyre lever and hit her many times until she was dead despite pleas by his crying children.

"When she was dead, he drove back home, put the body inside and waited for the police,” the paper said without identify the man.
