A Turkish passenger returning home assaulted an employee at a Saudi airport after the official asked him to stand in the queue, a newspaper reported on Monday.
The incident took place at Riyadh airport on Sunday, when the employee at check-in told the passenger he must stand in the queue or he would not be served.
“I am Turkish. Do not speak to me like this,” the Arabic language daily ‘Sada’ quoted the Turkish passenger as telling the employee.
It said he then jumped towards the check-in desk and assaulted the employee, before he was stopped by other airport officials.
The paper said police arrested the passenger but he was released on bail on the next day, adding that efforts are being made to resolve the problem out of court.
