Rats bite newborn soon after birth in hospital

A newborn was bitten by rat just moments after the baby came into this world.

After delivery, the infant was kept in a separate bed in the labour room at a hospital in Rawalpindi, Pakistan.
 
A couple of hours later, the baby was found with rat bite marks on the face and hands, reported thenews.com.
 
The baby is out of danger.
 
Hospital authorities have set up a panel to investigate how rodents could have entered the labour room and stressed that the hospital wards are always well maintained and are hygienic.


Saudi pimps wife for drugs: lashes, jail

A Saudi court sentenced a local man to 10 months in prison and ordered him lashed 150 times with the whip after he was convicted of pimping his wife to get free drugs. The court also accepted pleas by the woman to be divorced from her husband.
 
The woman had told court that her husband invited two drug dealers to his house in the capital Riyadh and “insisted” on them to have sex with her in his bedroom, the Saudi Arabic language daily Sabq said.
 
After having sex with them several times, the woman fled home and reported her husband to the Gulf Kingdom’s religious police, the paper said.
 
The woman told members of the Commission for the Promotion of Virtue and Prevention of Vice that her husband regularly beats her up whenever he has drugs.
 
“She also told them that he had forced her to sleep with two drug dealers several times. The woman supplied them with texts sent by her husband from her mobile phone inviting the two to have sex with her,” the paper said.
 
“The court found the man guilty and sentenced him to 10 months in jail. It also ordered him lashed 150 times and agreed to the woman’s plea to be divorced from him. the. The husband said he accepts the sentence.”
