Saudi jails dad for raping daughter

The General Court in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, sentenced a man convicted of raping his daughter to 13 years in jail, ‘Al Watan’ newspaper reported.
 
According to the report, the Al Motnazahat police station in Jeddah received a call from a 22-year-old woman accusing her father of raping her over a period of five years.
 
The girl claimed that her father used to take the advantage of the absence of her mother and her brothers from the home.
 
The victim added that her father beat her and threatened her with expulsion from the home if she told her mother or any family member.
 
According to the police, when on one occasion the girl refused to subject herself to her father’s desires he beat her until she was hospitalised.
 
The police arrested the father and he admitted all the charges against him.
