Suspecting wife's fidelity, Dubai NRI on stabbing spree in India

Police in Andhra Pradesh are investigating the mental stability of a Dubai-based Non Resident Indian who stabbed his wife several times and killed her brother and mother last week.

The man, Mohammed Abrar Ahmed had only recently returned from the Gulf and suspected his wife of having an affair with another man.

According to local media reports the man reached his wife’s house early morning on Thursday, June 27 and first attacked his brother-in-law, then his mother-in-law.

Both died on the spot. He then chased his wife on the road and stabbed her repeatedly.

According to the police, the woman has been admitted to a local hospital and her condition is critical.

“It looks like to he arrived in India only to carry out the crime. The incident was planned. We are looking into the mental stability of the man,” police officials have said.

Officials of Rasamayi, a UAE based social welfare organization of NRI’s from Andhra Pradesh say they are trying to find out more details about the suspect and where he had worked here in the UAE.
