Thief has his hand cut off in Saudi

Saudi executioners on Monday used a sword to cut off the hand of a Yemeni man convicted of theft in line with Islamic law, the official news agency SPA reported.

Ibrahim Abdul Rahman Hazbar was sentenced by a court in the Western town of Makkah after he was found guilty of carrying out many thefts, SPA said.

It said the defendant had his hand cut off from the wrist in a public place in Makkah.
