Nearly 5,400 litres of alcoholic drinks confiscated (Sabq)

Water tanker turns out 'liquor tanker'

Saudi customs officials were shocked to find thousands of litres of liquor instead of water inside a tanker crossing into the Gulf kingdom from the UAE.

The law enforcers at the Bataha Border point were routinely examining the van when they found nearly 5,400 litres of alcoholic drinks.

“They were concealed expertly but our men managed to foil the smuggling operation,” ‘Sabq’ daily said, quoting Customs Director Abdul Rahman Al Muhanna.
