University girls going to their morning classes in Saudi Arabia were called and told to gather at the gate. Minutes later, a man was brought by police and lashed 60 times.
While some of the girls felt sorry for the 23-year-old man, others enjoyed to see him writhing with pain—they were apparently among the victims of his harassing acts.
A patrol of Saudi Arabia’s feared religious police—the Commission for the Promotion of Virtue and Prevention of Vice—had caught the man while harassing girls near the university. He had been arrested before for harassing women in the town centre.
Sabq newspaper said the man was lashed after he was sentenced by a court in the western town of Taif. “College girls gathered near the gate and watched him lashed.”
