Yemeni father rapes 3-year-old; daughter admitted in ICU

A Yemeni man raped his three-year-old daughter causing her to be admitted to the intensive care unit and prompting his family to demand his execution.

Newspapers quoted the girl’s uncle as saying his brother raped his own daughter “violently”, inflicting serious injuries to her and causing her to lose consciousness.

“She was admitted to the intensive care unit at the hospital…this is an unforgivable crime that surpassed all religious limit and norms,” his brother said.

“We in the family have all decided to distance ourselves from this man for this heinous crime…execution is the minimum punishment for this criminal.”

The papers said they were quoting a statement carried on the Yemeni defence ministry’s website but they did not mention where in Yemen the crime took place.
