Teen’s kerosene act exposes old man

Colombo: A 16-year-old girl was rushed to hospital in critical condition after she consumed kerosene.

She took the ultimate step to end her life after she attended a seminar in school organised by Madampe police on child abuses, reported ‘Mawbima’.

Investigations reveal that the teenager was raped three years ago by her friend’s grandfather when she had gone to her place for combined studies.

Then she had not reported the incident to anyone as the old man had threatened her, she now revealed.

It was only after she attended the seminar that she realized that she was also abused.

Meanwhile, the old man is at large and police is looking out for him.
