Iranian visitors entering the UAE through Dubai International airport for four days were arrested with 11.2kgs of drug on December 31, 2011.
RIA, 38, who arrived at the airport, looked scared and was spotted because of his suspicious behaviour. The custom officer on duty noticed him carrying two big luggage bags despite of him visiting for just four days.
Inspecting his bags through screening machine custom officers found abnormal thickness at the bottom of the bags. They unloaded the bags and searched it thoroughly and found crystal material hidden in the fake bottom made in the two bags.
RIA confessed that the bags belonged to JKA, a passenger who was with him on the same trip and asked him to help him in getting them out of the airport as he was carrying two more bags.
As JKA already left the airport RIA guided the police to his address.
Police arrested JKA in a hotel in Naif area and brought him with his two luggage bags to the Anti-Narcotics Department. After searching his bags police found more crystal materials hidden at the fake bottom similar to the first two bags.
The total weight of the methamphetamine was 11.2Kgs.
The two confessed of smuggling drugs which they brought from Iran. They have got the four bags from a person called Saeed and were supposed to hand them over to someone in the UAE in exchange of money that will be paid after they execute the delivery and get back to their country.
The Court adjourned the case for verdict until April 8.
