Child bride, 12, miscarries after 'wedding' to 27-year-old
A 12-year-old girl married a 27-year-old man in New South Wales in Australia in a religious ceremony. The girl conceived soon after and miscarried, according to the court documents.
The husband told the police that he had married the pre-teen the previous year and he pleaded guilty to the charge of 'persistent sexual abuse', reports ABC.
The man is currently facing a maximum of 25 years of sentence for sexually abusing a minor girl.
The girl suffered a miscarriage after she had an ectopic pregnancy.
The girl has recently turned teen and is staying in the care of authorities.
