Five-month-old baby girl molested

Colombo: Two suspects who were arrested for molesting a 5-month-old infant girl while sleeping with her mother on the streets in front of a shop near the Colombo Fort railway station, were ordered to be remanded by the Fort Magistrate Thilina Gamage, ‘Lanka Cyber News’ reported.

Police have been ordered by the Magistrate to obtain a DNA report of the suspects who have been identified as Jayasiri Pieris and Vithanarachchige Kumarasiri.

They were arrested for abducting and raping the 5-month-old infant girl on June 22 and the DNA tests will prove the real culprits who raped the child.

Meanwhile, ‘Mirror’ reported that a 52-year-old person who has committed a severe sexual abuse on a 4-year-old baby girl, has been arrested by the Moneragala Police in the Uva Province.

It is reported that the girl, whose mother has gone abroad to work, had gone to a nearby house where she had been molested by the suspect who is a married man.

He is scheduled to be brought before the Moneragala Magistrate.
