Husband kills wife for not serving meat; sleeps with corpse

Zimbabwe - A man in Masvingo town of Zimbabwe allegedly assaulted and strangled his wife because she served him a meal without meat.

The 40-year-old then reportedly spent the night in bed with her pretending she died in sleep and called up her family to inform them that she was ill and cannot speak, according to Chronicle, reported newsbite.

The deceased’s sister, meanwhile, said that he had a history of being abusive towards his wife and so she suspected foul play. However, that night she asked him to take her to a hospital.

The following morning her family was informed that she was unconscious.

Meanwhile, her family is now demanding 15 head of cattle to be paid by his family before they can bury her.

His family denied their son had any role in his wife’s death and said it’s for the courts to decide.
