Kerala's shame: Dad, step-dad rape teen girl

In yet another shameful case of sexual abuse of young children in Kerala by those who should know better, a 17-year-old girl has been allegedly raped by her father and stepfather for more than a year.

The girl comes from a broken home where her parents had separated, Indian television channel said quoting Press Trust of India.

This particular incident came to light when the girl was spotted by a humane autorickshaw driver late at night and he took her to the neareast police station. The girl narrated her horror story to the officials who galvanised into action.

Eight people, inclusing her father, mother and stepfather were taken into custody for their role in abusing the teenager.

This incident comes close to the other horrific incident in Kerala's Ernakulam district where a six--year-old was force-fed alcohol and then raped by her own father.

There have been other reports of fathers raping their daughters even from Kottayam and Kannur districts of the state.
