Mother throws infant into well

A body of a three month old infant has been found in a well in Nikaweratiya area by the police, the Police Media Unit told Ceylon Today Online.

It has been revealed that the infant has been thrown into the well by its own mother.

The mother has been suffering from a mental disorder and she was found lying unconscious near the well.

The mother is currently receiving medical treatment at the Nikaweratiya hospital.
