She walks with baby corpse in bag

Colombo: A young woman was arrested by Ragala Police for walking around with a newborn’s corpse in a plastic bag.

According to ‘Mawbima’, cops tracked the 19-year-old woman after receiving a reliable tip-off.

She is suspected to be the mother of the child, though no evidence has been established yet, the report added.

The woman is a spinster and has been a resident of Elmar Estate for some time.

She has been admitted to hospital for medical check-up, while the baby’s body has been transferred for post-mortem, even as investigations continue.
