A soldier serving overseas watched on in horror as his pregnant wife was allegedly stabbed on ‘live’ video chat.

Justin Pele Poole was left helpless to help is 31-year-old partner Rachel Poole as an intruder allegedly broke into their home in El Paso, Texas and stabbed her, reports from the US said.

Police arrested Cory Bernard Moss and charged him with criminal attempted capital murder a short time after the alleged attack.

Police claim Moss admitted to stabbing Rachel, who was nine-months pregnant and suffered stab wounds to her face and body.

Luckily, the baby was still in good condition.

Rachel was not so lucky, with Justin writing on his Facebook page that his wife had lost an eye.

“My wife is my wife till I'm no longer breathing,” the serviceman wrote. “No man can change that and though I was not here to protect her this time it will never happen again that's my word.”

He reportedly broke into the house and was planning on talking to Rachel about money he owed Justin but she was not home.

When Rachel got home, she called her husband on video chat before the alleged attack happened.

Rachel recognised her attacker and was able to call authorities, while Justin got in touch with Moss's co-workers.

Moss reportedly owed money to Justin and Rachel over car repairs from a vehicle he borrowed and then crashed.
