Teacher molests 10-year-old student

A 52-year-old English teacher allegedly molested a 10-year-old six-grade school girl after he took her to the computer room.

The teacher has been sent on a remand until April 7 for the crime in Gampola area, ‘Mawbima’ reported.

The suspect, a father of two, was the master in-charge of grade six and a resident of Gampola.

He summoned the victim to the computer room where he abused her, saying that her brother had done some mistake and wanted to explain about it.

The underage girl after returning home related story to her parents and accompanied her father to lodge a complaint at the Gampola police.

Investigations continue.
