Teen skips school to be with 'lover'

Colombo: A minor girl was caught with a youth in a trishaw near Marawila beach in Sri Lanka last week.

According to a report in ‘Gossip C Lanka’, the duo were caught after a mobile police patrol grew suspicious on seeing a covered trishaw parked by the road side.

The 15-year-old girl had skipped classes to spend time with the youth, who had befriended her only three days back.

The youngster, employed with a private radio channel, persuaded her to spend the day with him, he admitted during investigations.

The girl hails from a poor family and her parents weave coir mats for a living.

She has been transferred to hospital for medical examination.

Police investigations continue.
