The Abu Dhabi-listed United Arab Bank reported a 27 per cent rise in its first half net profit to Dh120.9 million.

The bank saw its second-quarter net profit rise 35 per cent to Dh66.4 million, it said in a statement yesterday.

Earnings per share in the first-half rose to Dh0.15 from Dh0.12 over the same period in 2007.

Net operating income in the first-half rose to Dh189.2m from Dh150.6m in the same period in 2007, according to the statement.

Net interest income in the first half rose 15.6 per cent to Dh127.2m, United Arab Bank said.
