Evans sceptical about policy to control exuberance

Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago President Charles Evans said reducing the central bank's supervisory authority over banks may impair monetary policy by forcing officials into "difficult" scenarios.

"I am sceptical about using monetary policy to control financial exuberance," Evans said in the text of a speech today in Hong Kong.
