Norway's banks are stronger than last year

Norway's banks are more solid than they were this time last year, the central bank said, adding it is ready to act to ensure "smoothly functioning" markets.

"There is renewed financial market turbulence abroad," said Norges Bank Deputy Governor Jan F Qvigstad. The country's economy is recovering faster than its neighbours.
