Bank Sarasin has been granted licence by the Oman's Capital Market Authority to provide advisory services in private banking.

Sarasin-Alpen is the first Swiss bank to open in Oman and will start operations immediately.

The bank's Oman operations are the fourth in the GCC countries.

The licence allows Sarasin-Alpen to provide its complete set of high-quality advisory services to individuals and institutions.

Sarasin-Alpen (Oman) will leverage the existing investment banking business of Alpen Capital, also regulated by the CMA, further enhancing its complete range of financial services.

Sarasin-Alpen has a dedicated team committed to delivering personalised and very high standard services. Its associate, Alpen Capital, has already established an excellent track record in providing investment-banking solutions and has completed several transactions with institutional and corporate clients in Oman.

Rohit Walia, executive vice-chairman and CEO of Bank Sarasin-Alpen (ME), said: "Our track record of creating innovative solutions and the combination with Alpen Capital's investment banking solutions shall perfectly match the requirements of our clients."
