World's largest land systems group eyes UAE

Dennis Morris, President of BAE Systems' Global Tactical Systems business, part of the largest land systems business in the world, visited the UAE this week to explore areas for growth and the potential for industrial partnerships in the Emirates.

With Simon Keith, Abu Dhabi-based Managing Director – Middle East, Africa and Asia Pacific, Morris addressed a media roundtable in Abu Dhabi yesterday, and said: "BAE Systems' strategy of industrial collaboration has been successful in the Middle East, particularly in the UAE, where we are looking to further our partnerships with local firms.

"Last year BAE Systems Surface Ships set up a joint venture with Abu Dhabi Shipbuilding – Gulf Logistics and Naval Support – that will provide a range of naval support services in the Gulf. We hope to replicate this partnership across our land systems business."
