Unity will see UAE through, says Al Ghurair

Speaker of the Federal National Council has said the UAE is capable of overcoming any crisis thanks to its unity and strong economy.

Abdullah Abdul Aziz Al Ghurair was speaking yesterday during a meeting with Turkish Ambassador Haki Akil.

The two sides discussed parliamentary ties as well as the fallout of the global financial crisis. The ambassador said Turkey was indirectly affected by the crisis, adding that the export sector was partly affected since the Turkish economy depends on exports. He added the industrial sector was slightly affected. The government has made the appropriate decisions to overcome the crisis, he said.

Akil praised the wise policy of the UAE and the way it handled the global financial crisis.

The meeting also covered cultural, scientific and investment relations.
