The Abu Dhabi Airport Company (Adac) has contracted Searidge Technologies and its partner in the Gulf, Bayanat Airports Engineering and Supplies, to supply Searidge Technologies IntelliDAR system for advanced surface surveillance.

IntelliDAR, a non-co-operative system, provides surface surveillance capabilities enabling air traffic controllers to have full situational and visual awareness of the airport's newly constructed runway.

"Abu Dhabi International Airport is a growing airport with a passenger-centric philosophy and a goal of providing best of breed systems for our customers. We have chosen the IntelliDAR product, which we believe will provide the best solution for our surveillance needs," said Massimiliano Dosi, COO, Abu Dhabi Airports Company.

Abu Dhabi International Airport is currently significantly expanding to ensure the best service for the capital city. A newly constructed runway will allow the airport to provide better services to its airline customers and the IntelliDAR system greatly enhances the information provided to air traffic controllers. Empowering them to make timely traffic management decisions with a high degree of confidence. In cases of ambiguity, an air traffic controller has the ability to visually validate what is seen on the screen by viewing the target through the real-time video protocol provided by IntelliDAR.
