Agility DGS wins marine contract
Agility Defense & Government Services (DGS) has said its Taos Industries subsidiary has won a contract to store, distribute and maintain equipment for the US Marine Corps at 15 bases within the US and five others around the world. The one-year contract includes six one-year options and is worth up to $140 million (Dh513.8m) over seven years.
The contract, known as the US Marine Corps Consolidated Storage Program (CSP), was awarded by the Marine Corps Logistics Command. Agility DGS is a leading logistics provider to the US military and government. Under the contract, Taos handle Marine Corps' field and infantry combat gear, as well as chemical and biological defence equipment. The equipment covered includes personal gear such as tents, shelters, camouflage netting, packs and tools, along with specialised suits and masks that protect Marines from chemical, biological and other threats.
"We understand the importance of making sure that Marines' equipment arrives when and where it is needed – in the best possible condition," said Dan Mongeon, president and CEO of Agility DGS.
"Our technical expertise will ensure that the Marines will have ready access to equipment they need for their mission."
