Audi's January sales up 39%

Volkswagen AG's Audi luxury-car division said sales rose 39 per cent in January to about 77,800 vehicles. "With this successful start we're on target to reach the record we set in 2008 of one million cars sold, which we want to achieve again in 2010," Peter Schwarzenbauer, the Ingolstadt, Germany-based company's head of sales, said in the statement. German sales climbed 9.3 per cent in the past month.
