Aviation MoU to boost UAE-Yemen relations

The UAE and Yemen signed memorandum of understanding to boost co-operation in the aviation sector.
The two countries agreed to appoint Emirates Airlines, Etihad Airways, Air Arabia, RAK Airways and Fly Dubai jetliner as national carriers for the UAE and appoint Yemenia (Yemen Airways) and Al Saeeda domestic Airlines as national carriers for Yemen and that each side has the right to appoint further new carriers in the future by exchanging memorandums of understanding between the aviation authorities in the two countries.
"Consolidating mutual relations in the aviation sector between brotherly countries goes in parallel with the UAE Government's policy towards the opening of air space with many countries in the world to diversify travel options," said Saif Mohammed Al Sweidi, general manager of Dubai Civil Aviation Authority.
The MoU was signed between Al Suweidi and Hamid Ahmad Faraj, CEO of Yemen Civil Aviation.
