BAA awards $1.2bn contract for Heathrow terminal

BAA, the United Kingdom airport operator, has awarded a $1.2 billion (Dh4.4bn) contract to HETco to build a new terminal two at Heathrow airport. The contract, the airport's largest single construction agreement, includes excavation of the site, building the terminal's foundations and a main structure of about 40,000 square meters, the owner of Heathrow said. Heathrow's original terminal two closed in November last year.
