Dubai Aerospace Enterprise, the government-owned global aerospace, manufacturing and services corporation, yesterday said it will buy 18 Boeing freighter aircraft from Emirates airline.

DAE Capital, the group's aircraft leasing and financing business, will buy 10 Boeing 747-8Fs and eight GE90-115B powered Boeing 777 freighter aircraft in a split purchase and leaseback deal, the company said in a statement.

The deal will increase DAE Capital's leasing portfolio to 49 aircraft, with a further 200 Boeing and Airbus aircraft on order, due for delivery between 2010 and 2013.

DAE Capital confirmed an order for 100 aircraft, including 30 of its Airbus A350-900 wide-bodied jets and 70 narrow-bodied A320s. While the company concluded contractual obligations for the aircraft purchase at the Farnborough International Air show, DAE had signed an agreement with European aircraft manufacturer, Airbus, during the Dubai Air Show in November last year, for 70 aircraft from A320 family and 30 A350 XWBs (extra wide bodies).

The deliveries of the aircraft are due to begin in 2013 and conclude in 2022.

The list price of $12.6 billion (Dh46.2bn) incorporates an associated deal with Rolls-Royce for its Trent XWB engines to power the A350 XWBs, worth some $1.2 billion at list prices.
