Dubai airport sees record travellers

Dubai Naturalisation and Residency Department (DNRD) has recorded the highest number of travellers entering and leaving the country via Dubai International Airport, which reached 76,863 on August 15, just 18 days after implementing the new visa rules.

According to Major General Mohammed Ahmed Al Marri, Director of DNRD, "The new record is a positive indication that the new visa rules and regulations have been implemented to increase the number of visitors to the country."

The highest number of 76,863 travellers, recorded last Friday, broke the previous record of 75,117 travellers, registered on January 4, 2008.
