Emirates hikes ticket prices from July 16

One day after Emirates said it will be increasing ticket prices effective August 1, owing to soaring fuel prices, the airline said for the UAE market the price increase will come into effect as early as July 16, 2008.

Unlike other destinations, the airline will increase its fares for the UAE by 10 per cent for Economy Class and five per cent for First and Business Class, according to its spokesperson.

Emirates' fares for some of the other sectors would go up by 10 per cent for First and Business Class and five per cent for Economy Class, starting August 1.
