Emirates signs 100th pact to offer e-ticket

Emirates airline has signed its 100th agreement with other carriers to apply the electronic ticket system.

Emirates has offered the electronic ticket system to all customers in all stations within its network since the end of April. It was several weeks ahead of the final date, June 1, set by IATA.

Emirates electronic tickets can be issued via the 10 global distribution systems as well as appointed travel agents in 70 markets of the world.

Senior vice-president, commercial operation Keith Longstaff said a specialised team follows up the application and spread of the electronic ticket system across the airline's network.

He said the e-ticket allows more speed in finalising travel procedures for the passengers and the airline company. (Wam)
