Etihad Airways names Hijazine as country manager for Iran

Etihad Airways has appointed Nabil Matarweh Hijazine as the airline's country manager for Iran.

Based in the capital city Tehran, Hijazine will be responsible for managing the airline's commercial operations throughout Iran, Etihad said, adding the airline currently flies three times a week between Abu Dhabi and Tehran. With 24 years of experience in commercial aviation in the Middle East and Africa, Hijazine has worked as country manager for Qatar Airways in Algiers and, before that, Jordan, prior to joining Etihad.

He also held a variety of senior sales positions in Jordan for Emirates, Air France, British Airways and Royal Jordanian Airways. Following a recent MoU, Etihad has been granted rights to operate 43 additional weekly flights between Abu Dhabi and five Iranian cities of Tehran, Shiraz, Mashhad, Esfahan and Kish.
