Etihad boasts passenger growth

Massive investments by Etihad Airways have boosted its passenger capacity by nearly 17 times over the past five years to turn it into one of the fastest growing carriers in the world, according to figures released by the company.

From around 350,000 in 2003, when the airline began full operations, the number of passengers transported by Etihad rocketed to nearly six million in 2008, an increase of 17 times and an impressive annual growth of about 340 per cent.
